Grant Agreement № BG05SFOP001-2.009-0025-С01 between the Head of the Managing Authority of the Operational Programme “Good Governance” and Dr. Drenski, representing the Association “Bulgarian Association for Personalized Medicine” was signed on the 21st of December 2018.
The project named “White Paper on Personalized Medicine in Bulgaria – a Roadmap for Integrating 21st Century Innovations in Medicine to Change Health Policies through Active Citizen Participation and Adoption of Patient-Centric Approach”, will initiate a new model in healthcare, based on personalized medicine via the mechanisms of civic participation in policy-making and implementation of politics.The project will demonstrate the opportunities for implementation of innovative solutions in healthcare through active involvement of stakeholders, applying partnership approach.The envisaged activities will raise awareness and encourage citizens, civil organizations and business to engage through an active position in collaboration with the administration and based on partnership approaches, to make society a corrective of policy decisions and goals. Making recommendations and proposals as a result of the performed research and analyses, carried out within the project frame, will be a tool for citizens to participate in defining state policy in a socially sensitive area such as healthcare.The target groups specified for inclusion in the project are: administration of state institutions, governmental bodies determining the health policy, non-governmental organizations, as well as their employees, business and the public.The project will be a step towards shaping a publicly responsible health policy by involving stakeholders and implementing consensus-based mechanisms, placing the patient in the center of the system, improving the delivery of healthcare services, and building a better regulatory environment for civil participation in defining future health policy.
The project will be implemented in partnership between the Bulgarian Association for Personalized Medicine and the National Patient Organization Association.
The implementation deadline is the 21st of December 2019.
The project is implemented with the financial support of the Operational Programme “Good Governance”, co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund and amounts to BGN 89 999.97.
